THE LAST GOODBYE
by C-Town on November 30th, 2006
80’s Punk band Agent Orange has been rockin’ crowds for over 20 years with their special blend of punk and surfer music. Their first album “Living in Darkness” has long been the theme music for skateboarders and surfers alike. Sharp guitar riffs and drums of death make their sound stand out from other punk acts. Add in the old school surfer music variable and you have a solid album that rocks out from start to finish. The songwriting is pretty good and the few covers they do add a new spice to old material. Perfect for tearing up the half-pipe or tearing up a 12 pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon.

WHEN I POP THE TRUNK, HIT THE DIRT
by C-Town on November 30th, 2006
The Beatnuts are one of the most underrated beat making teams around. Their first release in 93 “Intoxicated Demons” is widely regarded as a Hip-Hop classic. Their talent lies at finding obscure samples and freaking the hell out of them. Lyrically they keep it gangsta, son. Bustin’caps, gettin’ with females, and stompin’ in some Timbs is their steelo but they also know how to make a good party jam. Straight rugged, bubble goose, Philly blazin’, 40 dog swiggin’, N.Y. Hip-Hop, kid…word life.

HITTIN’ HARDER THAN A FREIGHT TRANE
by C-Town on November 29th, 2006
John Coltrane is widely regarded as the greatest sax player of all time. His works have been recognized even after his death in 1967 and served as my introduction into the world of jazz. He has worked with all the legends including Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk. A deeply spiritual man, he also battled many demons including alcohol and heroin abuse. The greatest thing about Coltrane is he had a vast range of musical knowledge and was not afraid to experiment with different types of jazz. Some of his works can be considered mainstream while others showed a more somber and introspective side of himself. “Lush Life” is considered to be one of his more soulful and blues laced albums.

1. Like Someone In Love
2. I Love You
3. Trane’s Slo Blues
4. Lush Life

DOPER THAN A BOBBY BROWN PISS TEST
by C-Town on November 29th, 2006
Larger than life doesn’t even half way describe Mac Dre. The master of metaphors had been in the game for over a decade when he was taken from this earth before his time. I first got hip to the Mac named Dre on Master P’s West Coast Bad Boys 2. His track on there was a thumper with some of the wittiest lines I had ever heard. I decided to try and find one of his solo albums and came across “Stupid Doo Doo Dumb”. After that it was a wrap, son! I collected Mac Dre albums like they were comic books and was never disappointed with my purchases. Soon, my potnas in Cleveland got hip and we were the first cats bumpin’ Mac Dre in C-town. Mac Dre may have talked about pimpin’ and gangsta shit but the main theme in his music was living life to the fullest. Doin’ everything big and not givin’ a fuck about what a hater has to say about it. He was the true originator of the Hyphy movement and is probably making a thizz face right now at all the biters out now claiming it. Hyphy is not about how much booze you can drink or dancin’ next to your car. It’s about not letting anyone stop you from attaining your goals and when you get there, enjoying your success to the limit and beyond. Other people got other shit from listening to Mac Dre but that was the conclusion I came to.
Heres a video that illustrates Mac Dre’s superior word play:
Heres a scene from Mac Dres DVD Treal TV:
1. Feelin’ Myself
2. Fa My Niggaz
3. Jump It
4. Witme??

THE BITCH IS MAD CRAZY, YO!!!!
by C-Town on November 28th, 2006
Peaches makes the kind of music you don’t expect from a former private schoolteacher. Extremely explicit and party oriented, the Canadian native has been making hella noise in the club circuits.Known for wearing her draws on stage, her take on Electroclash can be compared to the Sex Style era of Kool Keith. Probably the most perverted chick I’ve ever heard spit, she also played most of the instruments on her earlier releases. The beats are made to make you shake ya ass and after listening to this you’ll feel like you just went on a three day binge at Studio 54. Straight rock star shit without the coke.

Fuck What You Heard!

art work by-Drayonis
A producer finds what music is inspirational and tries to recreate his or her own sound. Allot of times we may stumble across a beat that we made and say damn that’s something new , but some never extend the frequency. Is it because we can’t imagine the sound, Or because of the human fear of flying? Music is just a canvas that an artist can paint any idea on. We have to go back to the days when no two people did it the same. Some may say this artist is aiight, but his collection of material expands on new ideas. In the words of the 21st Century Tag Team Champions
“Man keep it real, get your own shit man,
and be original
