LONDON CALLIN’… DIZZEE RASCAL
by C-Town on May 31st, 2007

Man, the crew needs to break camp and head overseas. So, any of our overseas fam got to us let us know what’s poppin’. Dizzee ain’t fuckin around on this album, “Math and English”. History is being made folks, and all I have to say is, Bun B, and Pimp C of UGK makes an appearance on “Where’s the G’s”. With the emergence of music crossing boundaries, we should hear more collabs from artists world-wide. As always, the beats ain’t to be fucked with, and the kid, Dizzee, crafted a flawless style for himself. If you are looking over your shoulder at your people like , “Damn, who can I trust? It’s only a few left”, the cuts on here might bring your thoughts to light. The city would like to holler at some people from overseas about some future projects. SOMEDAYS YOU JUST WANT TO SAY…………
by C-Town on May 31st, 2007

The unsung hero, and Mr. wicked rip shit of the group, NWA, was the nigga named, Ren. MC Ren was undoubtedly one of the coldest with delivery, vocal inflection, and message. Yo , I know alot of the time, I just want to walk in a crowded room of bullshit, and say: “You know what? Ya’ll muthafuckaz, kizz my black azz!”. “Final frontier”, made you want to go to your job, and punch the shit out of your boss, and dare the secretary to call the cops. There is no more gumption in Hip-Hop and it’s sad we went from a punk rock attitude, to mantan and sleep and eat, dopplegangers for money. Don’t get me wrong, there are still some in the game who posses that vigor, but we need to stongarm this shit, and bring that back. But I digress…………………………….

THIS IS WHAT YOU GET
by C-Town on May 30th, 2007
Radiohead has made sure that their legacy sticks around in this world, we call music. There are many debates as to which Radiohead album is the best one. The way I look at it is, all albums are recorded in a different mind frame, place, and time. So I picked, “OKC”, because it was the shit, just like many other Radiohead projects. Thom Yorke’s voice made an impact on the new song, “US Placers” on the new Kanye West Mixtape! The orignal song can be found on his solo album The Eraser, To me that was one of the best songs on the mixtape, but the original album is godzilla yo. For times of armageddon, this is the best soundtrack to roll with!

JUST GETTIN’ IT ON…PLAYA FLY
by C-Town on May 30th, 2007
Playa Fly is a MC, from Memphis,Tennessee, who got his first start as a rapper with Three Six Mafia. They fell out 1995, and Fly decided to go solo and take on his former crew. When he dropped, “Triple Bitch Mafia”, he gained instant notoriety as one of the first former members of Triple Six to really address their well known, shady business practices. His rhyme style has a slow, husky tone and is full of hood tales and bravado, but also real talk. His beats are good ole’ fashioned, Memphis bump, and you can tell he had some influence from Three Six Mafia. He’s fresh out from doing a multi-year prison term for drug possession, and is set to release a new album this year. So, if you like good Down South gangsta bump, then make sure to peep Playa Fly.

CITY CLASSICS: RAW POWER…IGGY & THE STOOGES
by C-Town on May 30th, 2007
Originally released n 1973, “Raw Power”, is considered to be one of the early examples of good Punk Rock. At the time, the album was shunned by the mainstream, because of it’s shouted vocals, and face melting guitars. The album was mixed by Iggy himself, orignally, but was re-mixed by David Bowie, because the first mix was in low-fidelity. There is still a debate that goes on today, on which mix is better. In 1997, Iggy Pop, was given the chance to re-mix the whole album, and they re-relased it as a digi-pak. So, here is the remastered version of “Raw Power”,mixed exactly how Iggy wanted it.

TURBO CITY TELEVISION: CHEATERS UNCENSORED VOL.3
by C-Town on May 30th, 2007
It’s a shame to admit, but one guilty pleasure I have is catching, “Cheaters”, every week. Now, I’m not a big fan of Reality TV, because most of that shit is completely devoid of any reality, whatsoever. “Cheaters”, however, is a different story. When you see the look on someones face that gets caught slippin’, it’s a priceless look that can’t be faked. Even if it is fake, it’s still pure comedy. And if you thought the regular version was bad, check out this uncensored joint. They hold no bars on this one, and have some moments that will make you say, “DAAAAAAAMN”. This joint is mos def, must see TV.
