It’s finally here…Turbo City Radio. We’re going to be doing regular podcasts featuring all different kinds of music and genres. Don’t worry, We’ll still be dropping the heat here, but if you wanna listen to a whole bunch of different stuff at once, then that’s where Turbo City Radio comes into play. My first podcast was more or less a test to see how it turned out, but features a gang of Hip-Hop and Gangsta Rap, for the hardcore heads out there. We would like to hear your comments or suggestions for future show ideas. You can leave a comment there or hit me up at clevelanddawg216@yahoo.com. Thank you for being patient while we got this set up (I know some of yall were wondering what the hell happened), and the regular flow of music on Turbo City will start back up tomorrow. Keep it movin’ turbo at all times…peace.

UNSTOPPABLE…GIRL TALK
by C-Town on July 26th, 2007
Mash-up mayhem at it’s finest by Pittsburgh native (I won’t hold that against him), Girl Talk. This guy mixes any and everything, from Glam Rock to Down South Bump, into a chaotic sonic pot of gumbo. Unlike any other mash-ups I’ve ever heard before.
If you’re so inclined, I mos def recommend this joint…it’s on some shit.

YEAR END RAP-UPS(2002-2006)…SKILLZ A.K.A. YOUR GHOSTWRITER
by C-Town on July 26th, 2007
Virginia MC, Skillz (formerly Mad Skillz), is an underground legend, known for his witty wordplay. In 2002, he started recording year end summaries of all the events in music that year, appropriately titled, “The Rap Up”. I like to go back and listen to these, and trip out on the circus that is called, “The Entertainment Industry”. If you’ve never heard these, you’re in for a treat.

ALL IN THE FAMILY…EISLEY
by C-Town on July 26th, 2007
Eisley is a Indie Rock band from Tyler, TX, comprised of 3 sisters, their brother and a cousin. They literally began playing when they were kids, and performed 100’s of shows throughout Texas. They were finally signed in 2003, by Warner Bros. and were named “Best New Band” by the Dallas Observer that same year. Their sound is Indie Pop reminicient of The Cardigans, and on the strength of their melodic orchestration, have some really nice ballads. This is a cool listen for fans of Indie Rock. Heres their first full length album, “Room Noises” and be on the lookout for their new album coming soon.

CITY CLASSICS: MAD BLUNTED JAZZ…DJ CAM
by C-Town on July 26th, 2007
This album was one of my first forays into the world of Acid Jazz and Trip-Hop, when it was released in 1996. A double CD full of Hip-Hop breakbeats and Jazz samples, it’s amazing how well this album stood up to the test of time. I just broke out my old copy, and it still sounds just as fresh as the first time I heard it (it actually had me freestyling to myself, like the old days). DJ Cam is a true student of Hip-Hop, and created a relaxing mix that will satisfy Jazz, Trip-Hop, Hip-Hop, and Acid Jazz lovers alike. If you’ve never heard it, here’s your chance.

DANGEROUS AND MOVING…T.A.T.U.
by C-Town on July 25th, 2007
When I first heard of T.A.T.U., there was a whole lot of controversy surrounding them, because of the lesbian inuendo. Well, come to find out, that was a gimmick, but that didn’t stop them from releasing music(quiet as kept, they were a smash internationally). You’re probably wondering why I’m posting this. It’s because the songs that were played on the radio, were only a small sample of what T.A.T.U. had to offer musically. They actually have some good songs intermingled in with the text book, Europop. It’s a straight mix of Electronic and Rock, but has some merit in the produciton and songwriting. I never saw myself liking something that sounds like the soundtrack for “Night A t The Roxbury”, but here I am. Folks that don’t like dance club music, might not be able to get too far, but if you have a hankering for International club bangers, plus a few curve balls, you might respect Ta.t.u. for more than just a novelty act.
