SMOKE SOMETHIN’, BITCH…PIMP C
by C-Town on December 5th, 2007
Pimp C was a Texas legend who will be sorely missed. You may not have felt his music, but alot of people did (myself included) and it’s a shame that just when U.G.K. was starting to get back on track this happens. I’m not going to write a whole eulogy, but I just wanted to drop some classic Pimp C moments for the real U.G.K. fans out there. If you hate South music and U.G.K., that’s fine, but I would prefer you keep your negative comments to yourself. If you can’t show love, then at least show some fuckin’ respect. R.I.P. Pimp C.

BY THE TIME I GET TO JENA
by C-Town on September 20th, 2007

I just wanted to show my support for the folks that were able to travel down to Jena, LA and protest the bullshit thats going on down there. Whether you’re there in the flesh or just in spirit, this one’s for you. Make sure you bump “By The Time I Get To Arizona” before they start bumping “Get The Fuck Outta Dodge”. I posted this album about 8 months ago, but the link is dead, so I figured this would be the perfect time to re-up it.

THE KINGS FROM QUEENS…RUN DMC
by C-Town on August 15th, 2007
I’ll never forget the first time I ever heard “Rock Box”. I was a young lad who had an uncle who was into Heavy Metal and Hip-Hop. He would bump some Run DMC right after he got done bumping Black Sabbath, in this old school “Radio Raheem” boombox. Man, at that time you couldn’t tell me Run DMC weren’t the hardest muthaf*ckas on two feet (just a taste harder than Ozzy Osborne), and they really did alot to bridge the gap between Hip-Hop and Rock. The thing I liked about Run DMC’s musical melding was that they made it still sound hardcore without selling out or overcommercializing themselves. Even “Walk This Way” opened up alot of peoples eyes to other types of music by teaming up with Aerosmith, but not making it corny and calculated. Lyrically, I wanted to be these guys. Intelligent but still street smart. Funny, but dead serious. Humble but supremely confident. These guys created a blueprint for being a real man whether you were into music or not. I could go on and on, but you get the picture…Run DMC was and is still the shit. Turbo City salute to you fellas, and Rest In Peace Jam Master Jay.

50 CENT Ok, we all know that 50 Cent got shot up, and was left for dead after the JMJ deal. He could’ve taken many routes after his life was on the line. As Chamillionaire let us know, the greatest victory is revenge. 50 has proved to be one of the most successful Hip-Hopreneurs in our time. So it’s only right to bring it back to where the buzz started. So, this is for all the haters who think 50 sold out or he sucks and all that other bullshit. He has crafted, and pimped the system to create a powerful movement and continues to make it happen!- 1hunnid

Cappadonna“Winter Warz” was the song that made me raise an eyebrow to the skills of Cappadonna. After releasing a couple of solo albums, it seemed that Cap disappeared. From stories of him being broke, to being a cab driver on the streets of Staten Island, all which seem to be true. On this offering, “The Capitalize project”, he talks about the different struggles he went through in the processes of those years. Top to bottom this is a solid album, and let’s you know that Cap doesn’t plan to slow down any time soon.
For the hard core Wu fans, to support this album Cappadonna is giving you the chance to kick it with him in the Studio. What you have to do is, buy The Capatalize project for $15.00. This album is not available in stores the only way to purchase is contactingmailto:KINGZNQUEENZLLC@GMAIL.COM . After purchace a random drawing will be made to decide the winner!

YO! THAT’S FRESH

Mannie Fresh also known back in the day as DJ Mannie Fresh. You got to give credit where credit is due, his beats are not to be fucked with. On this album you can tell Mannie got his Mantronix studies on. “Buck Jump time” got that ill bounce to it. Mannie just secured a label deal with Def Jam , I’m sure you’ll hear some new heat from the mind of Mannie Fresh
It’s only right to show some respect for the architect.

CITY CLASSICS: EFIL4ZAGGIN…N.W.A.
by C-Town on June 14th, 2007
When this shit came out in 1991, it was right when they were trying to take censoring seriously. I tried to buy this shit at my local Camelot, and was told I was too too young, because of the parental advisory sticker. I was crushed. All the Hip-Hop magazines said this was the best album of the year, and I couldn’t even get it, because of Calvin Butts and C. Delores Tucker’s punk asses. Luckily, I was heading Down South to visit my grandparents, and came across a bootleg cassette of “EFIL4ZAGGIN” at a flea market. That album stayed in my Walkman for 3 months straight, slowly but surely, corrupting my young impressionable mind with each passing day. It was great. The brutal realities of the street life were vivdly presented to me in audio form, and helped me make a life choice decision early on. Listening to N.W.A., was the closest I would ever want to be to some gangsta shit. Thanks, Eazy-E. “EFIL4ZAGGIN” also served another purpose, and that was hipping me to Parliament/ Funkadelic, through Dr. Dre’s tight ass production. Man, this album was sweet, from start to finish, and still has some juice left in it. A tight and solid album from the godfathers of Gangsta Rap.

I have been trying to get this album back in my possession for years now.I’ve been trying to tell these fools who started this shit. 24-7 Spyz gave birth to half of the acts who claim to keep it raw, this shit is all over the place Funk! When I was a young cat we use to bump this album before a session of skateboarding, tearin shit up. It is still one of my favorite albums of all time! So my people, hailing from The South Bronx I give you 24-7 Spyz-Gumbo Millennium(1990). If you don’t know, you should have already known! Your all welcome.
